April 21, the Reunion group won the Seafood Excellence Global Awards 2026 for innovation for its marlin gravlax. He was among the 35 finalists, from 16 countries, of the sector's global trade fair competition with two creations inspired by the Indian Ocean.
More than 2,100 exhibitors from 87 countries : le Seafood Expo Global, whose 32nd edition took place from April 21 to 23 in Barcelona (Spain), is the unmissable global event for the seafood market. With this innovation prize, this is hexagonal know-how, and not just overseas, seafood products that Reunimer promotes. The company, present in the France Pavilion bringing together 88 exhibitors, was selected among the finalists of the reference competition distinguishing the most remarkable and innovative seafood products on the market : le Seafood Excellence Global Awards 2026. Reunimer was nominated in the Best Retail Product category for two original creations : his marlin gravlax, and its candied swordfish with sweet and sour flavors. Two seafood products offering an alternative to traditional charcuterie as an aperitif. Marlin gravlax revisits the Nordic tradition of gravlax with a tropical signature while candied swordfish, also called “sarciv”, seduced by its balance mixing softness and character. These creations embody a gastronomy that promotes marine resources while preserving them and in which Reunimer is part.
A fishing company that transforms and distributes
Today, marlin gravlax is sold in large and medium-sized stores in Reunion Island. Several restaurant chefs have already integrated it into their menus. With this reward, there is no doubt that his career will internationalize. The candied swordfish is, on the other hand, currently being sold on the Reunion market. It was offered exclusively internationally during the show. Established in mainland France, in Madagascar and Reunion*, the Reunimer group embodies a unique model in the Indian Ocean by combining fishing, transformation et distribution.
