Against rodents, fluorescent baits

Barrière à Rongeurs launches a generation of rodenticides benefiting from Fluo-NP fluorescence, from the professional market. The Expert range products benefit from this technology which, through visual stimulation, encourages the consumption of bait.

Rodents remain a major problem in homes, caves, outbuildings or exterior buildings. Their proliferation knows no stop, driven by urbanization and the growing presence of food waste. How to eradicate this scourge ? Individuals are looking for solutions against these pests capable of distrustful behavior in the face of traditional baits, notably rats which can avoid the consumption of an unknown food. This behavior is called neophobia (“fear of new things”). The rodent barrier solution ? Fluo-NP technology, present in this new range (Rat and Mice Paste Bait, Bait 3 Cereals Rats and Mice, and Rats and Mice Bait Blocks). She uses a fluorescent blue dye, not detectable by the human eye, capable of absorbing light in the ultraviolet range. Perceived by rats and mice, this particularity makes the bait easily identifiable by the animal, even in poor lighting conditions. It gives animals the impression that it has already been inspected and consumed by other members of the colony. It then appears more attractive and non-dangerous, which reduces the natural wariness of rodents.

Multisensory baits
This fluorescence also makes it possible to detect rodent feces visible under UV light.. By shining a UV lamp on the feces, it is easy to identify and track the movements and places of passage of rodents. Combined with new, more appetizing formulations, thanks to the exaltation of sugars, these baits are multisensory : they stimulate the sense of smell at the same time, the taste and sight of rodents. They are based on Brodifacoum, a latest generation anticoagulant which acts between 4 and 10 days after ingestion. Indeed, it’s about putting to rest the distrust of other rodents.
