Air Austral appeals to its shareholders

Air Austral requested in July a liquidity contribution of 3,6 million euros. It's about getting through the current difficult period, marked by high kerosene inflation as the company implements its development projects.

Run Air, the consortium of its private shareholders, brought 2 million euros and Sematra, mixed economy company and public component of its shareholders, was authorized by the Region to inject 1,6 million. Gillot's company is implementing a five-year business plan which foresees the exit of its fleet of its three Airbus A220s by the end of the year. They will be replaced by two Airbus A320neo, higher capacity and less expensive to maintain. Air Austral has suffered in recent years from the failures of its A220s, devices designed by the Canadian Bombardier and taken over by the European manufacturer.
