Early August, Air Austral has expanded its travel offering to Asia by signing a commercial agreement with Bangkok Airways.

Thanks to connections provided by the Thai airline which has a network developed in Thailand and South-East Asia from Bangkok, Air Austral passengers can now more easily access eight new destinations. The partnership opens access to the island of Koh Samui, in Lampang in the north of Thailand ; in Sukhothai, ancient capital of Siam and major national heritage destination ; and in Trat, gateway to the eastern islands of the country. Connections are also possible to Luang Prabang, in Laos, or in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, in Cambodia. Its destinations are offered with a single Air Austral ticket and baggage check-in until arrival, except for flights to Lampang and Sukhothai which require baggage collection and re-checking in Bangkok. The Reunion airline is also in partnership with Thai Airways, the Thai national airline which can offer connections from Bangkok to more than 35 destinations in Asia.
