While a growing number of consumers are wondering about the composition of traditional detergents (especially on synthetic perfumes, often responsible for irritations or allergies), Ops Clean pursues the ambition of “reinventing laundry care”. Created in 2023 in Lyon by Marc Biessy and Jean-Baptiste Duranton, the start-up has designed a magnesium-based sachet that can be reused in the machine up to 350 times. With this packaging and the associated detergent, our two entrepreneurs offer laundry care without plastic or controversial products. The cost per machine is 11 cents ! The carbon footprint is 71% lower than that of traditional liquid laundry detergent.

A minimalist perfume
With “Souvenir of the Islands”, the brand extends its approach to perfumes. Unlike common detergents that are often very scented, she focuses on lightness. This vanilla fragrance has been formulated to give laundry a subtle touch without saturating the fibers or attacking the skin.. Of natural origin, it is without controversial surfactants or preservatives. It is biodegradable (meets OECD biodegradability standards 301 and 310). It is used by pouring one or two pipettes into the fabric softener compartment before starting the wash cycle.. "Our ambition is clear : also offer the cleanest laundry scents on the market. » “Souvenir of the Islands” is a first step towards a new generation of more transparent and more demanding perfumes”, explain Marc Biessy and Jean-Baptiste Duranton.

Things are going well for Ops Clean !
This launch comes in a context of strong momentum for the young Lyon brand : + 385% turnover over the last 12 months, a number of users up 150%, +495% online orders, an in-store presence increased from 10 to more than 100 points of sale… For Marc Biessy and Jean-Baptiste Duranton, this trajectory confirms the growing interest in healthier and more sustainable maintenance solutions. The French company is a winner of the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator program, which helps start-ups meet the challenges of growth.
