9,000 kilometers from the metropolis, the question of digital sovereignty is not theoretical : it is lived every day. It is this observation that has guided YOUTELL since its creation ten years ago. The Reunionese ESN made the bet, from the start, that truly sovereign computing could not be controlled remotely, but had to be based on infrastructures and teams anchored in the territory.
A decade later, the bet looks like a demonstration. The company was gradually structured around three professions which feed into each other : cybersecurity, accommodation, and outsourcing. Three activities, the same logic : guaranteeing organizations on the island that their systems remain protected and under control, whatever the pressure – competitive, regulatory or cybercriminal – which weighs on them.
This continuity of service is based on an unusual infrastructure for the region.. YOUTELL today distributes its customers' data and applications between three data centers located in Reunion Island, designed to ensure geographic redundancy and business continuity. The company was notably the first digital services company (ESN) local to install its equipment within Omega 1, the Tier 3 data center inaugurated by the Océinde group at Le Port – an infrastructure meeting international standards that is reshuffling the cards of the digital ecosystem of the Indian Ocean. “Ten years of uninterrupted growth, it's not a miracle : it is the result of discipline. This requirement, This is what our customers come for”, summarizes Jean-Benoît Poncet, director of YOUTELL.
AI-empowered oversight
Operations side, supervision runs 24/7, now supported by artificial intelligence tools. Behavioral anomaly detection, automatic prioritization of alerts, network event correlation : so many levers that allow technical teams to gain in responsiveness and, Thus, to devote their attention to situations with higher added value. Over the years, the scope of expertise has also expanded. To the historical activities were added the networks, IP telephony, video surveillance and access control. More recently, faced with the rise of NIS2, Dora, ISO 27001 or GDPR, YOUTELL has structured a Compliance department dedicated to supporting Reunion companies in their security efforts.. “We realized that there was a lack in the territory of an actor capable of translating these European regulations into concrete action plans, adapted to the size and means of each structure”, explains Jean-Benoît Poncet. The idea : offer a single point of contact, capable of supporting the entire digital chain, from infrastructure to compliance.
RadarSec, an innovation from YOUTELL
This dynamic has just reached a milestone with RadarSec, SaaS platform for monitoring and managing vulnerabilities presented by YOUTELL during the InCyber Forum in Lille. Designed in Reunion for CISOs and technical teams, RadarSec aggregates the main official sources – NVD, Mitre, Cisa Kev* – to transform the continuous flow of security alerts into prioritized and actionable actions. A tool designed to bridge operational supervision and compliance requirements, two worlds that still too often ignore each other. For Jean-Benoît Poncet, “this trajectory extends the company’s mission : protect critical infrastructure, and sustainably support local organizations. Looking ahead to the next decade, ambition emerges : continue to consolidate the Reunion digital ecosystem, while developing solutions intended to shine well beyond the island. »
