Credit : the easing of rates continues

Interest rates continue to fall, according to the latest figures provided by Iédom, which corresponds to the 4th quarter of 2025.

The average rate of new housing loans falls below the national level for the first time in two years. It stands at 2,82 %, against 2,99% nationally. The average duration of home loans reaches twenty-one years, for an average loan amount of around 147,000 euros. The average rate of new consumer credits increases slightly, to settle at 6,17 %. The average duration of personal loans is just over five years, for an average amount of 17,100 euros. All business credit rates have also fallen. The rate of new cash credits fell by 35 basis points between July and October 2025 to stand at 2,91 %, i.e. a level 64 bps lower than the national average rate. Nearly 9 out of 10 new loans are taken out at a fixed rate, for an average duration of 3,9 ans. The average rate for new equipment loans also falls and stands at 3,84 %. The average interest rate on new home loans also decreases by 9 basis points, at 3,73 %.
