The consumer price index in Reunion Island fell by 0,8% in September 2024 compared to August, according to INSEE.
Prices of all major consumption items are falling. In connection with the sales period, prices of manufactured goods fall by 1,4 %, after two months of stability. Energy prices are falling again (-2,1 %), prices for services also decrease (-0,3 %), after two consecutive increases in July and August. Food prices drop by 0,4% on the month. Prices of fresh produce are falling again (-1,1 %), and those of other food products drop by 0,3 %. Over a year, the Reunion price index increased by 2,1 %, faster than in France (+1,1 %), but the slowdown in inflation is confirmed despite everything.
