July 31, the Competition Authority announced that it authorized the merger between Caillé Grande Distribution (Leader Price brands) et Make Distribution (Run Market brands).
It considers that it has obtained sufficient guarantees from the Mauritian group IBL – the main shareholder of Make Distribution – regarding the supply of Coca-Cola products.. Starting October 1st, the bottling of Coke and associated brands will in fact be transferred from Brasseries de Bourbon to Edena, company also controlled by IBL. The new group will therefore bring together around fifty Leader Price supermarkets and convenience stores and the four Run Market hypermarkets.. The decision comes as Make Distribution continues its recovery without having regained balance. According to figures revealed by The Daily, the company lost 5,7 million euros at the end of the financial year from September 2024 to August 2025. However, losses are reduced compared to the previous year., and the brand's overall workforce is increasing.
