In June, the consumer price index measured by INSEE fell by 0,3% in Reunion compared to the previous month.
After an outbreak in April (+23 %) and a much smaller increase in May, energy prices fell by 3%. Those of services decreased by 0,4 %, driven by the fall in prices of transport services (-4 %). On the month, food products increased by 0,2% after dropping from 0,3 % one May. Prices of fresh produce, as far as they are concerned, have progressed by 0,9 %, those of other food products remained stable. Manufactured products, for their part, grew by 0,2 % (-0,3% for clothing and shoes, -0,2% for health products). Prices of other manufactured goods increased by 0,4 %. Finally, those of tobacco continued to increase (+0,9%). Over a year, between June 2025 and June 2026, consumer prices increased by 1,5% on the island and 1,8% nationally.
