Towards a public-private partnership at the Port of Victoria
The Seychellois authorities have launched a consultation procedure with a view to entrusting part of the management of the port of Victoria to a private operator. Four companies submitted a file. The government has decided to terminate the financing agreement which linked the Seychelles Port Authority to the European Investment Bank and the French Development Agency, to move towards a public-private partnership. The selected operator will operate the port terminal and make the necessary investments.
Doing so, the Seychelles state aims to reduce its financial burden in the country's main port. The contract award schedule has not yet been made public.
