In the meeting, 14,274 apprenticeship contracts were signed during 2022 in the private sector, according to the latest data from the prefecture. This figure increases by 14% compared to 2021, as at national level, and 67% compared to 2020. When entering apprenticeship, 80% of young people have a level lower than or equal to the baccalaureate. Among them, 23% have no diploma and 16% have a CAP-BEP level. The increase in the number of contracts concerns all diploma levels. The number of students preparing for a baccalaureate level doubles over the period 2020 to 2022 ; that of bac+5 level preparations is multiplied by 2,5. Regarding other diploma levels, an acceleration should be noted : +43% for BEP-CAP level preparations, +70% for bac+2 level preparations, +49% for bac+3 or bac+4 level preparations. Among apprentices at CAP to BTS level, almost one in two young people from Reunion (or 46%) is employed six months after leaving the apprenticeship contract. All economic sectors benefit from apprenticeship, the leading recruiting sector being services. 58% of apprentices were recruited by companies with fewer than 10 employees and 27% by companies with 10 to 49 employees.
