Grand Sud Productions enriches its catalog : “Mokafé Pure Arabica” in roasted beans is a 100% Arabica designed to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving Reunion market..

In the meeting, coffee occupies a special place in consumption habits. With this new Pure Arabica roasted beans, Grand Sud Productions strengthens its coffee offering. Fruit of work on the selection of beans and mastery of roasting, this product expands the range with a premium positioned reference, while offering very good value for money. This dynamic takes place in a particularly favorable context : for more than two years, local sales of roasted coffee beans are growing significantly, both in value and volume. This trend is confirmed in the first half of 2026 with an increase of 1,9 point of market share in value and 1,6 point in volume, driven by an increase in sales of respectively 30% and 11% in volume*. “These figures reflect a profound change in consumption in Reunion : roasted grains are no longer a niche, they are becoming a structuring segment of the coffee market. By thus expanding the Mokafé range, we respond to this dynamic while bringing our own quality standards”, explains Guillaume Aubéry, general director of Grand Sud Productions.

The growing segment of roasted beans
How to explain this market increase ? By the advantages of this format compared to ground coffee, soluble or in pods. Preserved whole, the grains preserve their aromatic compounds longer which, otherwise, oxidize quickly once the coffee is ground. Result at the time of tasting : superior freshness and aromatic richness. The grain format also leaves the consumer in control of the grinding, which he can adjust according to his preparation method for a result more in line with his preferences. This more qualitative and customizable dimension meets the expectations of customers looking for a coffee experience closer to that offered by artisanal roasters.

Roasting : Reunion know-how
Mokafé therefore completes its offer with an elegant and balanced 100% Arabica, with milder aromas than those of the robusta and arabica blend already offered by the brand. The roasting of the beans was the subject of work carried out with an expert in specialty coffees. “Pure Arabica roasted beans are a new string to our bow, designed to support the growth of this segment while remaining faithful to the spirit of our brand”, specifies Guillaume Aubéry. For distribution players, this launch also illustrates a fundamental trend : the growing demand for products promoting Reunion know-how while meeting the quality standards expected by customers.
