Pour le World Cleanup Day, Because of plastic, the Reunion association fighting plastic pollution, mobilized for a new fun and family cleaning, September 20.
For this global demonstration of cleaning the planet, the association once again mobilizes the employees and their families of its five founding companies : Antenna Meeting, Crédit Agricole de La Réunion, E.Leclerc Réunion, EDF Réunion and Suez RV Réunion. More than 100 people participated, with guests of honor : Miss Reunion 2025, Priya Padavatan, and beekeeper Bernard Pade, World Cleanup Day ambassador, who joined them during the morning. In 2023, 1,5 tonnes of waste were collected by members of Plastik’Akoz. A little less this year : 800 kg. Also on the morning program, entertainment designed for the whole family, including a workshop for children aged 3 and over. " This year, we wanted to renew our cleaning operation near the Lazaret de La Grande Chaloupe. Ce moment convivial, placed under the sign of pedagogy, aims to raise everyone’s awareness of the importance of preserving our environment, our natural heritage. We must act together, by mobilizing our employees in a civic approach and transmitting these values to the youngest”, explains Hervé Madiec, president of Plastik’Akoz and president of Suez Recyclage et Valorisation Outre-mer.
