Despite an increase in the 4th quarter compared to the previous quarter, the number of business failures (put into receivership or liquidation) decreased by 1,2% in 2025 in Reunion compared to the previous year : 1,107 failures recorded, against 1,120 in 2024.
According to the Overseas Departments Issuance Institute, the construction sector, which showed a historically high level of insolvencies in 2024, is the main contributor to this decline. Conversely, household services saw the number of their failures increase significantly. Throughout overseas, business failures jumped 12% last year, figure significantly higher than that of France as a whole (+ 3,5 %).
