Alternative to traditional “chewing dough”, the brand is enjoying real international success. It raised $3 million to strengthen its position on the markets.

Concerning the major brands of chewing gum, about 60% of ingredients are made from synthetic polymers derived from petroleum... the same materials used in plastic bottles and straws, trash bags, or even certain glues. On the other hand, chewing gum is the second most common object found in nature, after cigarette butts… This is why Milliways is currently the fastest growing brand. Founded in 2021 by entrepreneur Tom Raviv, Milliways is now one of the largest chewing gum companies in the UK and Europe. Since its launch, the brand has raised a total of $10 million to support its growth in the United States and Europe, as a plastic-free alternative to traditional chewing gum. Milliways products are available in more than 10,000 points of sale worldwide. In France, they are distributed in major brands such as Auchan, Carrefour, E. Leclerc, Casino and Système U as well as in Relay stores and gas stations.

Strengthened credibility

The group of investors from Milliways’ latest fundraising confirms this rise : on y trouve Mehmet Yüksek, the former North America CEO of global confectionery giant Perfetti Van Melle ; Leon Amram, former owner of Intergum, Turkish chewing gum manufacturer ; and other executives providing expertise in developing global chewing gum labels. This $3 million fundraising will be used to support the expansion of retail distribution, to increase production capacities, and finally to continue the development of the brand on international markets.

Milliways uses only seven ingredients, of natural origin. The product is only plant-based. Enriched with xylitol – a natural substitute for sucrose –, it is aspartame free. Its composition makes it biodegradable. It is available in menthol eucalyptus flavors, peppermint or chlorophyll, and fruity strawberry and cherry flavors. « Moi, concerned about my health, I didn't want to chew plastic anymore. I knew millions of people wanted the same thing, that’s why I launched Milliways”, Tom Raviv explained, CEO of the company.
