It is registered in the national network of Houses for Science, supported by the La main à la pâte Foundation in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Technologies. This new structure aims to strengthen the dissemination of scientific culture in Reunion Island. Its mission is to support first and second level teachers, to promote teaching practices based on experimentation, and to arouse young people’s interest in science. In a context marked by environmental issues, major climatic and technological, the system is intended to be a lever to better understand the challenges of the territory and provide appropriate responses to them. It will help to strengthen links between research, education and society. Brigitte Grondin Perez has been appointed director of the Maison pour la science de La Réunion.
