Hoa Nam : Vietnamese tradition and French innovation

On the occasion of Chinese New Year, the Hoa Nam company, one of the pioneers of the Asian food industry in France has launched a new premium range of steamed snacks developed in collaboration with Chef Takuya Watanabe, Michelin-starred : « Taku collection by Hoa Nam ».

When Philippe Chieu, ruler of Hoa Nam, goes, at the invitation of his wife, in the Parisian restaurant “Jin”, a Michelin star, he is far from suspecting that beyond a unique culinary experience, he will experience a magnificent meeting which will lead a few months later to one of the most beautiful collaborations of his life as an entrepreneur. Like him, the emblematic Chief Takuya Watanabe aka “Taku”, recognized for its know-how, cultivates a taste for excellence. Philippe Chieu then offers Chef Taku a tour of the Hoa Nam workshops. The appointment is made. When they see each other again, Philippe Chieu tells Chef Taku of his desire to create a premium Hoa Nam range which would bring together exceptional products. Seduced by the history of this family business highlighting Asian dishes with flavors of yesteryear “Made in France”, the team and the qualitative approach of Hoa Nam, Chef Taku decides to embark on the adventure…

A collaboration full of promise…
Three premium quality steamed appetizer recipes, from the imagination of Chef Taku, prepare in secret. There is a test, taste, amended, test again… Five months after the start of this project, new dishes with delicate and refined tastes are emerging to satisfy the most demanding palates : steamed scallop bites, with crayfish or Wagyu beef. All the ingredients that have made Hoa Nam successful for over 40 years are obviously there. : a rigorous selection of raw materials, trusted suppliers, careful control of the manufacturing process for superior quality dishes, authentic and tasty, made by a team of enthusiasts in the workshops of Ivry-Sur-Seine.

Distribution in supermarkets
Products from the “Taku collection by Hoa Nam” range can be found exclusively in French partner supermarkets. (Leclerc and Carrefour) and at Hoa Nam Traiteur in the 13th arrondissement of Paris for the Chinese New Year. A great way to enter the year of the Water Tiger with delight.

Hoa Nam, a European leader
Created in 1981 by brothers Heang Korng and Try Chieu, Chinese people from Vietnam passionate about gastronomy thanks to the influence of their mother, madame Kim, Hoa Nam started out as a modest family workshop for making Asian dishes.. The success is such that Hoa Nam will become the first Franco-Asian company to have established itself on the French supermarket market.. Hoa Nam is now the European leader in exporting fresh and frozen Asian cooked products. Third generation of the Hoa Nam lineage, Philippe Chieu works, since 2010, to promote the traditional recipes of his grandmother while infusing modernity and dynamism into the family business which today has 90 employees.
