GreenYellow was named the winner of the call for tenders for the construction of a 500 kWp photovoltaic shade in the Colosse park car park, one of the busiest leisure sites in the east of the island.

The shade will protect the parking lot of the Colosse park

This large-scale project illustrates the capacity of Reunion Island communities to promote their existing spaces in the service of the energy transition., without additional artificialization of the soil. The installation will produce around 837 MWh of green electricity per year, fully injected into the Reunion electricity network. This production will help avoid the emission of nearly 1,040 tonnes of CO₂ each year, thus participating in the reduction of the carbon footprint linked to the production of electricity on the island. In addition to energy production, the project presents concrete and immediate benefits for the territory : revenue generated for the community, thanks to the valorization of existing land ; increased comfort for users of the Colosse park, with a car park now equipped with shelters protecting vehicles from high heat and bad weather. The photovoltaic shade is thus part of a logic of sustainable public service, reconciling energy transition and improving the visitor experience.

Recognized expertise

Actor in the energy transition in Reunion, GreenYellow has proven expertise in design, financing, the construction and operation of photovoltaic power plants. The company notably created all the solar shades installed in the car parks of the Run Market brands. (ex-Jumbo and Score), which have now become benchmarks in terms of energy recovery from commercial car parks in the region, as well as the shade structures located in the car parks of Réunion-Roland-Garros Airport. “At the Colossus Park, GreenYellow confirms its positioning as a trusted partner of communities and local stakeholders to transform everyday spaces into concrete levers of Reunion’s energy transition.”, welcomed the company by announcing this new project at the end of January.
