Port Victoria will expand
The Seychelles commercial port expansion and rehabilitation project has fallen behind schedule, but it will succeed, recently assured the government of the country. The project will be supported to the tune of $35 million by the French Development Agency and the European Investment Bank., and 6 million by the European Union. The Seychelles will have to find an almost equivalent sum, particularly in the context of public-private partnerships, to successfully complete the entire project (creation of two 300 meter quays, dredging of the basin and entrance channel)
Resumption of cruises in October
More than 18 months after the start of the health crisis, Seychelles expected to welcome first cruise ship in November : le MS Island Sky, a small English liner capable of carrying 118 passengers. During the 2019-2020 season, Port Victoria hosted 39 cruise ship calls, for a total of 63,500 passengers.
