Facing the challenge of old age, Domissori expands its field of intervention by taking over the company Au Rayon de Soleil in Reunion and launching an activity dedicated to aging well at home.
Au Rayon de Soleil is a major local player in home help. By taking over this company threatened with liquidation at the end of June, Domissori preserves 100 jobs and opens a path for growth. Like what she does for early childhood, Domissori wishes to develop a sustainable project combining social innovation, support for beneficiaries, support for caregivers, and promotion of home help professions. With Domissori Senior, the company specializing in home childcare, ,for educational purposes, will develop a support approach also inspired by Montessori pedagogy in the service of the autonomy and quality of life of elderly people. National approach*. Born in Reunion in 2019, Domissori is now present in more than 20 departments and employs more than 1,100 people.
Supporting aging at home
There are almost 18 million French people over 60 years old. By 2050, the number of elderly people losing their autonomy is expected to increase by nearly 700,000. A long time, Réunion was among the youngest territories in France. Now, it is experiencing a particularly rapid aging of its population. In 2020 and for the first time, the percentage of seniors has exceeded that of those under 20. The number of people aged 75 and over is expected to almost triple.
