Renovation of maritime terminals continues

A new phase of the Mayotte maritime terminal rehabilitation program began at the beginning of September. At a cost of 10 million euros, co-financed by the State and the Department, the work is due to be completed in mid-January 2026. The Mayotte Dairy increases its capacities

Laiterie de Mayotte has just invested nearly 3,4 million euros – including 1 million euros of European grant – in a new automated line which allows it to significantly increase its production capacities. With the same workforce, the unit based in Kawéni can produce 16,000 pots of yogurt per hour, instead of 6,000 previously. Created in 1992, Yoplait franchisee and subsidiary of the Reunion company Cilam, Laiterie de Mayotte employs around fifty employees.

A public establishment for reconstruction

The new public establishment for reconstruction and development of Mayotte, created by the recent emergency law for Mayotte, signed its first deed of sale on September 12 : that of land intended to accommodate around sixty housing units and four commercial premises in the Doujani district, in Mtsapéré. The operation is led by Al’Ma, the Mahorais subsidiary of the Action Logement group. The EPRDM was formed by absorbing the public land establishment of Mayotte, with the aim of unlocking land reserves which are sorely lacking for the construction of housing and economic activity zones. Eventually, 900 housing units are planned in the Doujani ZAC, as well as a school group, a sports complex, offices and shops.
