The first phase of deployment of the high level of service on the Car Jaune network began on August 18, back to school day, between Saint-Paul, Saint-Denis and Saint-André.
Double-decker coaches with 83 seats, frequency increased to one coach every 15 minutes during peak hours and lanes dedicated to public transport over around fifty kilometers are all arguments to encourage users to use the regional network. Faced with rising fuel prices, the Réunion Region maintains until October 31, 2026 the system it put in place in May : 50% reduction in the price of Car Jaune subscriptions, network on which the single price of 2 euros per journey does not change. An adjustment to schedules, based on travel times observed since December 2025, was on the other hand carried out. At the end of 2026, a regional network satisfaction survey will be carried out by the Réunion Region and Cap’Run, the group made up of ten local transport companies in charge of operating the Car Jaune network and Transdev, who manages the latter.
