According to a study commissioned by the Regional Academic Delegation for Youth, to commitment and sports (Drajes), sports players, whether they come from the sports association sector or the commercial sector, were strongly impacted by the health crisis in 2020. The sporting world is struggling to relaunch its activities and 58% of private operators estimate that their turnover decreased by more than 10% between August and November 2020 compared to the previous year.. Sports tourism activities have declined sharply and 88% of players in the commercial sports sector have relied on at least one of the support measures put in place by the State since March 2020.. Whatever their situation, sports associations fear a collapse of their economic model in the medium term.
