According to the Réunion Import and Trade Union (SURE), new vehicle sales fell by 2% during the first two months of 2026.
Of 3,602 registrations recorded in January and February, 772 are Renault vehicles, 477 of Peugeot, 365 of Toyotas, 344 of Dacia, and 279 Citroëns. If sales of utility vehicles increase, those of private vehicles are in clear decline. The premium segment is particularly impacted by buyer caution, as well as the category of electric vehicles.
