The Reunionese Tourism Committee launched in July a “Activate Péï mode” campaign after having noted a lesser attendance from local customers.
According to his estimates, The tourist stays and excursions of the Reunionese in Reunion fell by more than 50 % in the first four months of 2025. A multi-channel media campaign was launched and a “peï travel diary”, designed as an inspirational guide for the 2025 southern winter holidays, was developed. “I would like the people of Reunion to benefit from a price offer, commercial and more generally of a local tourist offer that is as competitive as possible, because they are the first ambassadors of their island”, indicates Patrick Lebreton, president of the CRT.
