The number of job seekers rose slightly again in the second quarter, according to the latest figures from France Travail.
From April to June, 152,400 people registered in categories A, B and C were on average required to look for a job (+1,6% compared to the previous quarter, -2,4% over one year). Among them, 112,020 were unemployed (category A) and 40,380 exercised reduced activity (categories B and C). This quarter, the number of job seekers in category A remains stable and drops by 3,9% over one year. Unemployment among young people under 25 tends to increase. It progresses by 2,9% over the quarter and 2,7% over one year in categories A, B and C, of 2,9 % et 2,3% for category A only. In other age groups, the number of registered with France Travail falls over one year.
