Naïma Mouchou, Minister of Overseas, announced at the end of July the maintenance of Lodéom's social security contribution exemption schemes as well as that of the tax aid regime for productive investment as part of the finance bill for 2027.
The announcement was welcomed by overseas employers’ organizations, rather accustomed to uncertainty about these measures as each budget discussion approaches. “This decision constitutes a strong signal of confidence to Reunion companies”, comments in particular on Medef Réunion. “The concerns of the territory’s economic players have been heard. The frame is preserved, and the work that will begin at the start of the school year must aim to improve these systems rather than calling them into question”.
Last April, the government had commissioned an evaluation report on these two systems. In his conclusions, he formulates various proposals to simplify them and make them more effective.
Work will be organized from September on the subject, “in consultation with the stakeholders concerned and in the light of recent parliamentary reports devoted to exemptions from social charges”, indicates the Ministry of Overseas. The stated objective is “to improve these tools, considered pillars of the overseas economy”.
