Genepi menthol freshness, sweet flavor of the sweet, floral and fruity notes of Marc Cordelier : three liqueurs imbued with naturalness showcase the ancestral know-how of Distilleries and Domaines de Provence.
Marc Cordelier : 100% Provencal eau-de-vie
In 1898, Distilleries and Domaines de Provence gave birth to a Marc made solely from Provençal grape varieties : Marc Cordelier. It takes its name from the Cordeliers convent located in Forcalquier.. Only AOP Provence grape marc is used in its composition. : Grenache and Syrah for the red grape varieties, Viognier and Vermentino mainly, then Clairette, Bourboulenc and Grenache for the white grape varieties, all carefully selected to achieve a balance between fruity and floral. From one year to the next, depending on the harvest, percentages may change ; a specificity which fully testifies to the artisanal making of Cordelier. On the other hand, vintage after vintage, its aromatic richness remains immutable, both powerful and subtle. In 2019, Marc Cordelier received the Gold Medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris. Marc Cordelier can be enjoyed both chilled and at room temperature., as a digestive or cocktail.
Gentle : half-pear, half-cognac liqueur
Combining natural flavor, generous and sweet Williams pears with the intensity and subtlety of Cognac, Douce offers a symphony of aromas from the first tasting. Carefully and rigorously selected, the fruits which enter into its composition are the guarantors of the flavor and finesse of this water- life. The pears are then pressed and left to ferment. Fermentation finished, the liquid part is distilled, then skillfully blended with cognac. Cognac brings structure to La Douce, the water- pear life gives it its unique fruity aromas. Velvety and creamy, easily recognizable by its clear and brilliant golden color, Sweet leaves a note of vanilla and spices in the mouth. Ideal companion for chocolate desserts like sorbets, especially pear and red fruits, it is eaten very fresh, plain or shaken in a cognac glass and in cocktails.
Génépi : the liqueur of the Alps
Génépi from Distilleries et Domaines de Provence is a complex alcohol-based liqueur, Genepi infusions and alcoholates, a hint of infusions of other aromatic mountain plants and sugar syrup. Formerly ignored by druggists and reserved for mountain populations, today it is appreciated everywhere and recognized for its taste qualities, digestive and tonic. A concentrate of the distillery’s century-old know-how, its realization requires a very rigorous selection of strands of génep, fragile plant grown in the Hautes-Alpes and perfect control of distillation and maceration times, which enhance the intense and subtle flavors of the plant, without bitterness. Chlorophyll helps restore its beautiful green color to Génépi liqueur.. With time, due to its natural oxidation, the liquor will turn brown, wearing a beautiful dress with golden reflections. Digestive of long winter evenings, Génépi is eaten iced, very cool or on crushed ice, not a cocktail. It can also be served at the table to enhance pork ribs or roast pork..
