The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Reunion Island laid the first stone in April for a set of warehouses which will be built in industrial zone no. 1 of the Port.
The CCIR has been moving for several years towards the development of new business reception infrastructures. After purchasing the Domaine des Pierres, in Saint-Pierre, she invests 2,5 million euros in this Porto project which will consist of four modular warehouses with a total surface area of 1,000 m2. Delivery of the building, whose roof will accommodate a photovoltaic power plant, is announced for the end of the year. The Chamber thus intends to respond to the needs of businesses that struggle to find suitable premises and announces other similar initiatives., in the south and west of the island. It revives an old strategy, which notably led it to create industrial zone no. 1 of the Port in the 1960s.
