The Mauritian communications agency based in Reunion Island wins its very first Diamond SABER Award, as well as a 12th African SABER Award.
Presented on March 17 and 18 in South Africa as part of the Public Relations and Communications Association conference (PRCA) Africa, these prizes reward campaigns combining strategic requirements, creativity and impact. This year, Blast Burson is recognized with a Diamond SABER Award for its project “From monitoring to understanding : how Blast Media Intelligence transformed CEO communication in Mauritius” ; and by a trophy in the Sectors of activity category - Association for the awareness campaign on defective Takata airbags, entitled “When airbags threaten to kill those they were supposed to protect”. “These distinctions illustrate our ability to support speeches that matter, to create messages that resonate and carry out projects that have a real impact, while continually innovating to adapt to local and even regional realities. They also reflect a collective success, supported by our teams, our partners and the institutions with which we collaborate”, declares Emeline Valgresy, deputy manager of Blast Burson in Reunion.
Defective airbags : a “life or death” message
This mobilization found particular resonance during the awareness campaign for defective Takata airbags. Early 2025, several tens of thousands of vehicles were still circulating in Reunion with this risky equipment. Faced with this major public safety issue, the SICR deployed a major campaign carried out in close coordination with the State, dealers and a large network of partners, including Blast Burson. Campaign structured around two key moments, in February and September, in order to encourage motorists to have their defective airbag changed free of charge and as soon as possible.
