The Sagis Institute repeated its opinion survey on the morale of Reunion Islanders in October 2023, carried out for the first time in September 2022.
Result : in one year, island morale has deteriorated significantly. A third of those questioned believe that their quality of life (this figure doubles compared to last year) and more than 50% that the economic and social situation of the island are “much worse” for a year. On the quality of personal and family life : 65% believe that it has deteriorated over the past year (against 49% in 2022), 35% believing that it is “much less good” (against 16% in 2022). The feeling of degradation crosses all layers of Reunionese society. 85% of respondents believe that the economic situation on the island has deteriorated over the past year (compared to 81% in 2022), 51% believing that it is “much less good” (against 38% in 2022).
