The PRO Campus of Saint-Pierre vibrated on April 10 and 11 at the rate of the first edition of the Regional Cup of Trades, 48th regional edition of WorldSkills, organized by the Cité des Métiers in collaboration with the Réunion Region. For two days, nearly 80 young competitors from 14 professions showed their talents in conditions close to professional reality, in front of a large and enthusiastic audience.

A striking demonstration that technical and manual professions are paths to excellence and the future : it is this strong message that led the Réunion Region to return to the WorldSkills in this unprecedented configuration alongside the Cité des Métiers. Sixteen young talents from Reunion were in the spotlight at the end of the event. Metalwork : Alan Grondin. Milling : Rildine Anly. Robotic integration : Korenn Apalama et Quentin Selambaye. A record attendance

With an estimated attendance of 5,000 visitors in two days, this edition confirms the growing public interest in professions and professional training courses. The success of this Regional Careers Cup was made possible thanks to the support of the Region and the European Social Fund. Vice-president of the Region responsible for professional training and apprenticeship and president of the Cité des métiers, Karine Nabenesa celebrated “the know-how of these young people who engage in manual trades, this youth of excellence who has chosen the professional path”.
