Acté on October 10, the establishment of the steering committee for the regional contract for the aeronautics and drone sector constitutes a first step towards the installation of a campus for aviation and aeronautics professions in Reunion.
The project is supported by the AéroTech OI association, created in 2019 at the initiative of Roland-Garros airport. Placed under the joint presidency of the prefecture and the regional council, this steering committee symbolizes the commitment of partners in the structuring and development of the French and European aeronautics sector in the Indian Ocean. In the meeting, it employs nearly 2,800 employees in the private and public sectors. Nearly 1,100 additional positions will be filled in the next five years, according to a recent prospective study.
