The cooperative society of collective interest specializing in innovative projects for building and sustainable housing wants to promote start-ups on the island.
Many talents from Reunion want to return to undertake and innovate in their territory : this is the conviction of the Alvéoles team, whose start-up studio was launched to support innovative projects anchored in the local realities of sustainable housing. Through his model, Alvéoles wishes to demonstrate that it is possible to create start-ups attracting expatriate Reunionese profiles wishing to put their skills at the service of their island. “We want to create a framework that allows talents from Reunion to return to do business on their island. Returning to the PEI should no longer be seen as a professional sacrifice. There are major innovation topics in Reunion, very concrete needs to satisfy, and businesses to build », explains Guillaume Hoareau, general director of Alvéoles.
Search for partners
Since its launch, Alvéoles is developing several projects around issues in the Reunion area, particularly in the energy and housing sectors. So Beenergy is a solution designed to democratize photovoltaic installation, facilitate project monitoring and secure investments in solar. Other idea : Archie, the “conversational companion” of new housing, intended for monitoring real estate construction sites. The objective : allow promoters, builders and future buyers to better follow the construction stages of their home, to streamline exchanges, and centralize all documents related to the property throughout its life. These initiatives are still in the development phase. They illustrate Alvéoles’ desire to build locally designed solutions.. The start-ups Beenergy and Archie are looking for their future co-founders and operational partners to support their structuring and growth.
Alveoli for example
The Alvéoles company itself illustrates this dynamic of returning to the PEI to launch projects. Graduate of Epitech, Dimitri Clain continued part of his studies in mainland France before working for three years in a technological consulting and expertise firm.. In January 2026, he chose to return to Reunion to join Alvéoles as a full stack developer and innovative project engineer. At the head of the company since April 2024, Guillaume Hoareau also followed a journey marked by an experience which was first built outside the territory. After studying civil engineering at ESTP, the major training school for engineers in sustainable construction, then a double degree in the United States at Northwestern University in logistics systems, he worked for several years in logistics and transport consulting in Paris, as well as within Chronopost, before returning to Reunion.
Project catalyst
Eventually, Alvéoles aims to launch up to five start-ups per year in the energy fields, housing, mobility and environmental issues of the territory. The start-up studio is looking for entrepreneurs, of business experts and expatriate Reunionese profiles interested in joining emerging initiatives.
