Reunion motorists still did not know, early August, what discounts they will benefit from in the coming months on fuel prices. TotalEnergies has announced, end of July, that its discount of 20 cents per liter in September and October then 10 cents in November and December will apply well overseas. But the French group had to back down when it tried to lower its prices by 10 cents, in February, faced with the revolt of service stations keen to maintain the system of administered prices practiced in unison throughout the island. Likewise, it remains to be seen how the State will modulate in Reunion the discount of 30 cents per liter which will apply in September and October (then 10 cents in November and December), following the votes of the law for the protection of purchasing power and the amending finance law, end of July. In April, when a discount of 18 cents came into force in mainland France, it had been set at 15 centimes in Reunion.
