The Energy Regulatory Commission authorized the construction of new photovoltaic power plants in the overseas departments and Corsica at the beginning of July., for a total power of 59,8 megawatts peak (MWc). This decision follows a call for tenders launched in 2019 for non-interconnected areas (Corse, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Mayotte and Reunion, In July, the Energy Regulatory Commission authorized the construction of new photovoltaic power plants with a total power of 59,8 megawatts peak. Reunion Island has 33 winning projects out of 67 and 32 MWp to be installed. Albioma (14,1 MWc), Total (12,2 MWc) and Akuo Energy (11,4 MWc) obtain 63% of the total allocated capacity. “The Group confirms its status as leader in photovoltaics overseas”, welcomed Albioma in a press release. 12 of its 23 winning projects are located in Reunion and will develop a total power of 8,4 MWc.
