On October 21, the government announced new measures in its overseas housing policy.. Sébastien Lecornu, Minister of Overseas, and Emmanuelle Wargon, Minister Delegate for Housing, ask prefects in particular to set housing construction targets for communities, particularly social housing, in consultation with local elected officials. Those who achieve the objectives will be able to receive financial assistance from the State, which could, for example, benefit the creation of public facilities and spaces made necessary by the induced densification. Other measures aimed at strengthening the effectiveness of the Overseas Housing Plan are also announced.. Anah’s aid to landlords will be made more attractive, and a standardization commission will be set up in each overseas territory benefiting from the status of Outermost Region. The State will cover their operating costs to identify local non-CE marked materials which could be used in a local supply logic., once the European regulation has been modified.
