Down 0,8% in September, stable in October, the consumer price index has started upwards (+0,4 %) in November 2024 in Reunion, according to INSEE.
Manufactured products prices increase by 0,9 %, those of clothing and footwear of 2,9 %. The prices of health products, however, fall by 0,2 %, while the prices of other manufactured goods increase by 0,7 %. After two months of decline, energy prices are on the rise again (+1 %) mainly due to the increase in prices of petroleum products (+1,9 %). The prices of electricity and gas bottles, still benefiting from local aid, are stable. Prices for services stabilized in November, after increasing in October and falling in September. The fall in prices of communication services (-0,2 %) and transportation (-6,6 %) is offset by the rise in prices of health services (+0,4 %), rents, waters, and household waste removal (+0,2 %) and other services (+0,6 %). Food prices remained stable, like in October. Over a year, the price increase stands at 1,4% in Reunion. It is slightly lower than the national level (+1,3 %). Inflation over one year is stabilizing on the island and remains much lower than at the start of the year, where it exceeded 4 %.
