The interest rates on loans to individuals observed in the 4th quarter of 2024 still remain slightly higher than those observed a year earlier, notes Iédom, and increased slightly.

The average rate of home loans thus increased by 27 basis points (pdb), to settle at 3,58% as of October 2024, i.e. 30 bps above the average rate granted at the national level. The average duration of home loans reaches twenty-five years, for an average loan amount of €202,000. The average rate of new personal loans and other consumer credits also increases by 31 bps, at 6,33 %. It is nevertheless lower than the national average rate. The average duration of personal loans is six years, for an average amount of 21,600 euros. Against this trend, the average overdraft rate contracts by 61 bps, after a sharp increase of 83 bps the previous quarter.
