The Réunion Region announced on September 20 the birth of the Regional Innovation Agency, called to unite the efforts of all players in the sector. In the regional organization, this domain was until now that of the development agency Nexa. For the sake of visibility, it will now be entrusted to a specific agency, whose director will be appointed by the end of the year. Chaired by Maya Cesari, regional advisor responsible for innovation, the ARI will notably request European grants from the ERDF to carry out its actions and support the projects. The initiative received the support of the Department and intermunicipalities, but also the main socio-professional organizations of the island (CPME and MEDEF, A) and consular chambers.
