The Region writes Act II of its “New Economy”

115 million euros mobilized from own funds, 14 devices deployed, more than 12,000 businesses helped since 2021 : On August 12, the Region drew up an initial assessment of its support for VSEs and SMEs, through its program called “the New Economy”.

The FAIRE system made it possible to grant 240 loans for 30 million euros, including 96% to microenterprises. KAP-TPE supported 171 companies in its first year of deployment, with 227 existing jobs supported and 175 new jobs planned. Internationally, Prim’Export supported 161 companies through 271 files for a total amount of 2,17
millions of euros. The Region reminds that beyond direct aid, it also participates in the activity of Reunion companies thanks to public procurement (350 million euros committed each year).
The community is preparing to write “Act II” of the New Economy, “in the face of accelerating changes : artificial intelligence, robotization, digital, new forms of payment and financing ». In particular, it wants to strengthen its action in favor of local production, image industries and support for businesses facing the development of artificial intelligence. It also plans to set up, before the end of the year, a system to support companies in the transition to electronic invoicing. It also wishes to better prevent failures and intervene more upstream with companies in difficulty., in particular by strengthening the support offered by the approved prevention group set up by CPME Réunion. In order to maintain dialogue with small businesses on the island, a regional economic convention will soon be organized.
