The Reunion tech leader extends its scope to local physical AI hosting in Reunion, where it is headquartered and is a partner of the Omega 1 datacenter, and in the other overseas territories where it is established.

It was awaited by many of its clients and by the start-up community : the offer called exoSMART solves the lack of AI hosting in Overseas Territories, an obstacle to the development of Artificial Intelligence in these territories. AI hosting indeed requires storage capacity, calculation and processing of larger data and of a different nature than traditional data hosting. Overseas and in mainland France, Exodata currently has 13 locations for data hosting (he will be 18 at the end of the year). Among them, the Omega 1 data center in Reunion will host the first AI infrastructures. This new offer proposed by the Reunion digital service provider responds to several issues linked to proximity. The first, it’s sovereignty, in other words the trust that customers can have in an operator hosting and securing their data not far from them from French territories. This is an issue that current geopolitical instability makes all the more crucial.. Added to this is a gain in efficiency : local AI hosting reduces latency. Data is no longer stored far away, they do not need to travel via submarine cables.

A flawless journey

With this new offer, it is also its own increase in skills that Exodata puts at the service of overseas territories. AI hosting completes the range of professions on which the continued success of the company created in 2012 is based (17 million euros in turnover in 2025, i.e. +12%). Exodata has grown with the support of certified skills at the highest level : ISO 27001, the international information systems security standard ; certification HDS (Health data hosting), etc. Its objective was to constitute a global network passing through overseas territories and mainland France.. It’s done today. This model remains unique in France in the cloud and cybersecurity, precisely the SOC (supervision of security infrastructures), two specialties that have become its development drivers thanks to this architecture. AI hosting promises to be a third development engine for this global ultramarine model.

14 years of experience in Follow the Sun

By buying a cybersecurity company in Tahiti last year, Exodata has completed its globe coverage and Follow the Sun model, based on a physical presence all around the Earth. Exodata is established in the Indian Ocean (Reunion and Mauritius), in a city (Paris and Bordeaux), in the Caribbean (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana), and in the Pacific Ocean (New Caledonia, French Polynesia). Thanks to this planetary network, customers who entrust Exodata with the monitoring of their information system have the assurance that a team is ready to intervene instantly in the event of an incident at any time of the day or night. This model has convinced important and well-known players : the RATP ; banks ; insurance ; EDF PEI for its energy production IT needs in Reunion Island, from Corsica and the Antilles ; or the Polynesian health system for modeling its future telemedicine network deployed across the archipelago.
