Cinor President Maurice Gironcel was awarded the Cit’ergie and Circular Economy labels on September 16, two distinctions from Ademe which recognize the commitment of a territory to the ecological transition. Several actions of the intercommunity justified the obtaining of Cit-Ergie : supporting the intercommunal tourist office in taking into account sustainability criteria in the tourist offer, as well as supporting member municipalities in the construction of an Eco-PLU (Local Urban Plan) aimed at combating land take and promoting less energy-consuming housing. Cinor is also carrying out various actions in the field of the circular economy. Since 2013, it has been carrying out the Grand-Prado wastewater treatment plant project., which makes it possible to treat around 8 million m3 of wastewater per year, while producing biogas and fertilizer for farmers. The community also manages a resource center which currently allows 245 tonnes of waste to be recycled out of 321 tonnes collected.. A recycling plant will also see the light of day in 2023, in order to capture objects before they arrive at the recycling center, to repair and reuse them.
