In Reunion in 2024, The loan activity with BPIFRANCE guarantee amounted to 13 million euros for the benefit of ten companies, and more than 70 million euros of unsecured loans have been deployed (+70% compared to 2023) for nearly 200 companies.
Bpifrance also advanced 131 million euros in the short term to 117 Reunion companies. The public investment bank also facilitates access to credit for VSEs and SMEs by covering part of the risk to encourage banks to finance the riskiest phases of a company's life.. Last year, it granted 41 million euros in guarantee support for 502 businesses on the island. Bpifrance also mobilizes different innovation financing tools, in the form of aid, loans or equity. In 2024, structural innovation aid amounted to 3 million euros in Reunion, for 40 companies (+20 companies compared to 2023). 800,000 euros of loans without Innovation guarantee were also granted on the island. The public bank’s advisory activity is also growing (50 missions last year on the island). In the field of business creation, it supported 2,356 project leaders and 1,928 business creators from Reunion Island and granted 1 million euros in honorary loans, in partnership with support networks. Finally, the Réunion Region and Bpifrance enabled 68 companies to mobilize a total of 6 million euros mainly for financing aid (Recovery loan) for the benefit of 63 companies. Aid for innovation, notably via territorialized France 2030, represented 676,000 euros, for the benefit of five companies.
