The number of job seekers registered in category A (required to look for work and without activity) amounted to an average of 115,110 in the first quarter of 2024 in Reunion.

In all categories, the number of people registered on the island with France Travail, new name of Pôle Emploi, was 153,810 on average in the first quarter of 2024, increasing by 0,2% compared to the previous quarter and down 0,9% over one year. The drop in unemployment was marked in Reunion in one year in category A, while an increase of 0,1% was recorded as a national average. It was stronger in Guadeloupe (-4,3 %) and in Martinique (-7,9 %). In Guyana, the number of unemployed increased by 6,9% in one year. In all categories, the number of job seekers increased by 0,6% nationally over the last twelve months.
