Air Austral will offer theoretical pilot training

Aero Run Training, the training subsidiary of Air Austral, and Aéro Pyrénées announced at the beginning of May the signing of a partnership aimed at opening a first theoretical ATPL training course in Reunion (Airline Transport Pilot License) dedicated to preparing for the profession of airline pilot.

In January 2027, a first promotion will integrate this unique course within the Aéro Run Training premises in Gillot (local name of Roland-Garros airport). This nine-month intensive face-to-face theoretical session will allow 20 students to acquire the knowledge essential to obtaining the theoretical ATPL., first obligatory stage of the professional pilot course. This diploma, issued by the French authority (General Directorate of Civil Aviation), has a validity of three years. At the end of this first phase in Reunion and in order to begin their practical training, trainees will be able to continue their journey in mainland France within Aéro Pyrénées. The flying school is located in Perpignan (Pyrenees-Orientales), in Valencia (Drome), and Toussus-le-Noble (Yvelines). Information meetings will be organized on June 25 and 26 in Saint-Pierre and Saint-Denis to present the content of the 13 modules of the training as well as the admission conditions and the professional prospects offered by this course.. The cost of this first local ATPL will be around 12,000 euros.
