The Reunion Region presented the new vehicles which it acquired in late March at the end of March to renew the fleet of the Yellow Network : 72 Iveco vehicles with 45 to 49 seats and 11 Setra double-decker vehicles with 81 seats, for a total amount of 29,3 million euros.
If the long-term objective of the Region is the creation of a regional rail transport network, the community wants to work, waiting, improving the coach transport offer. “The evaluation of the current network shows that certain sections of the network are saturated and that the supply remains insufficient, estimates the Region. Conversely, certain lines are not busy enough and deserve to be restructured”. In 2025, the Car Jaune network will see its offer increase by 10% (40 additional trips per day). In 2026, 70 additional trips will be provided daily between Saint-Denis and Saint-André and Saint-Denis and Saint-Paul. And in 2027, the offer will be further enhanced by 70 additional trips per day, between Saint-André and Saint-Benoît and between Saint-Paul and Saint-Pierre.
