In 2025, Ademe Indian Ocean supported projects carried out by public and private actors from Reunion and Mayotte for a total amount of 14,1 million euros.
80 projects have benefited from financial support from the ecological transition agency. In Reunion as in Mayotte, they mainly concerned the theme of the circular economy but also renewable energies, controlling electricity demand… Ademe notably financed the Village Ré Invente, a day dedicated to reuse, for repair and reuse in September 2025 in Saint-Denis. She supported to the tune of 1,3 million euros for the local cellulose wadding manufacturing project, currently imported, implemented by the company Bourbon Isolation Écologique. In Mayotte, Ademe's action mainly aimed to support the territory in the management of post-cyclone Chido by supporting the reestablishment of waste collection, the treatment of green waste and the implementation of temporary solutions for bulky waste and REP sectors.
