Early March, the Indian company IndiGo announced the opening of three direct flights per week between Chennai and Reunion. This will be from April 29, 2026. This connection will be operated by Airbus A320.
Reunion will thus become IndiGo’s 46th international destination and the 13th served from Chennai., capital du Tamil Nadu, southeast of the subcontinent. Air Austral opened a first connection between Saint-Denis and Chennai in 2014. Interrupted by the health crisis in 2020, it was reopened in May 2022 then suspended again in 2023. Flights will depart from Chennai on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, to arrive at Gillot at 5:10 p.m.. They will leave at 6:10 p.m. to land in India the next day at 2:10 a.m. local time.
